A Living Masterpiece

The Silent Guardian of Ancient History

The Basenji is not merely a breed; it is a direct link to the dawn of civilization. Originating from the heart of Africa, these ‘bush things’ were prized by Pharaohs and tribes alike for their intelligence, silence, and unparalleled hunting prowess.

Primitive Grace, Modern Spirit

In our Rome-based kennel, we honor this heritage by focusing on the preservation of the breed's essential nature. The Basenji is famously barkless, instead expressing itself through a unique yodel-like sound known as a barroo, and a cleanliness routine more akin to a cat than a canine.

Independence & Intelligence

Highly alert and inquisitive, the Basenji possesses an independent streak that requires a patient, experienced hand. They are thinkers, not followers.

Silent Elegance

Known as the barkless dog, they communicate through subtle body language and rare, melodic vocalizations, making them ideal companions for a quiet home.
